The book of Mark is humbling. When two of Jesus’ disciples, two of His closest friends, asked to sit (one day) on thrones to His right and to His left, the response Jesus gave them must have left them speechless. Jesus responded, “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:43-45 ESV)

The King of all kings, the powerful Son of God came to serve. How did He serve? By giving His life as a ransom for us, so that we could spend eternity with God. This is devastating to our pride, ego and selfish motives. The one who is worthy of worship came to give His life in service for us! Join us as we delve into Mark’s account of this Majestic/King who became our SERVANT/SAVIOR.
